Dr Smit was born in Rustenburg NW, he matriculated in 1973

After Matriculation he trained in medical sciences and did medical research for several years at the Institute for communicable diseases in Johannesburg, he also received training at several hospitals (Kalafong hosp ,Rietfontein fever and TB Hosp, Universitas hosp, 1 Mil hosp and Grootfontein hosp) Dr. MJ Smit also served at the Institute for Aviation medicine and  the Military medical Institute. In 1992 Dr MJ Smit qualified in Homeopathy ( London UK) and received registration in SA in 1996.Dr Smit qualified in Homotoxicology (Germany) in 2001, in 2005 he passed the exam of The International  Board of Clinical Metal Toxicologists (USA). In 2009 Dr MJ Smit received his PhD in Natural Medicine with accreditation in the member countries of the EU. www.birchamuniversity.edu  Dr Smit has practiced as a Homeopath since 1996. In 2000 he started performing colon hydrotherapy and owned the well known Top Health clinic in Cape Town. Dr Smit has also practiced in Somerset West and George. Dr Smit has helped many patients from all over South Africa. In his practice Dr Smit makes use of innovative technology to help him get to the root of the problem, he makes use of Vega testing ( Germany) and was instrumental in introducing the Voice Bio system (USA) in South Africa. He is also 1 of only 2 certified trainers on the Voice Bio system in SA.
