Dr Barnard graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand and subsequently completed Diplomas in Community and General Paediatrics and Child Health. She has a gentle approach to patient care and is passionate about children’s health. Barnard is married, mother of one and has many pets. She enjoys trail running, baking, and painting in her free time. Having a young family herself, Dr Barnard is passionate about children’s medicine, baby wellness, allergies and taking care of a patient’s mental health. “I enjoy learning about more than just the clinical presentation, but also the context from which a patient comes from. I value building relationship and strengthening systems that support patients.”
