Sarah believes in a holistic approach to healing and that every person is responsible for their own health.
Reflexology can be used in alleviating a variety of conditions such as headaches, migraines, stress, anxiety & depression, digestive disorders, sinusitis, diabetes, hypertension, kidney and bladder problems, ADD and ADHD, and many more.
Reflexology is a non-invasive treatment which involves pressure being applied to the sole of the foot, using specific thumb and finger techniques. The Reflexologist will stimulate the reflex points, in turn causing a ripple effect throughout the body and increasing the flow of energy and circulation. This results in a breakdown of any blockages, removes toxins and allows for all organs and systems to function optimally.
In our modern society, our bodies are inundated with toxins, resulting in a variety of congestions in the related systems. Reflexology stimulates the body to detox and heal itself, however, the more congested one is, the longer it may take for progress to be made. In most cases the Reflexologist will generally set up a treatment plan based on the severity of the condition. The sessions would be biweekly but as the condition improves, a maintenance schedule is still required to sustain optimum health. It is however important to note that every patient is responsible for their own health and the effectiveness of the treatments also depends on patients commitment to following the suggested lifestyle changes.
“Your body is a temple, but only if you treat it as one.” ~Astrid Alauda
During your first Reflexology session, the Reflexologist will take a full case history, asking you relevant questions related to your medical history, lifestyle and exercise routine. He/she will also conduct a full assessment of the feet and hands. Once all these relevant details have been noted, the therapist will begin with a full treatment. During this stage of your session, you may feel sensitivity or pain in certain areas. These sensations mentioned may be due to congestions in the various reflexes and alert the Reflexologist as to problem areas or where you have pre-existing weaknesses. The therapist will close the sessions with a gentle soothing massage, leaving you feeling light, relaxed and very pampered.
“By cleansing your body on a regular basis and eliminating as many toxins as possible from your environment, your body can begin to heal itself, prevent disease, and become stronger and more resilient than you ever dreamed possible!” ~Dr. Edward Group III
