An excellent doctor. He treated my 7 week old after an accident left him with 2 skull fractures and a bleed underneath the skull (epidural hematoma). His bedside manner and knowledge is fantastic. What a humble doctor. Thank you doctor! We will always be thankful that God worked through you and healed our son. Thank you for being patient and kind to a very anxious mother. What a humbling experience meeting this Dr! He is such a humble, professional extraordinary person and amazing Dr. His bedside manner is out of this world. The way he treats and speaks to his patients and explains everything is not something words can describe and explain in a way to do him justice. Everyone that has ever had any encounter with Dr Mkhonza speaks with so much respect for him and his work. He is beyond capable and cares without limits for his patients and their loved ones. What an unassuming, humble professional! The moment I walked into his rooms I knew I would trust him with my life. He showed me exactly what's wrong with my neck and explained how he will fix it. I was in the op theatre for 5 hours on Saturday morning and he released me on Monday morning. The excruciating pain in my chest, arm and pins and needles in my hand was gone after 8 weeks of suffering severe pain. He prescribed no physio and advised me to be careful for the next couple of weeks and then start using my neck normally. Even though he is specializing in brain surgery, dr Mckonza is a medical practioner par excellence. There are a lot of professionals out there who should take their example from this man. He is for sure living out his passion to prevent the sick from suffering. To him you're not just another source of income. You are treated with respect and honesty. What a fantastic experience. I do want to believe that he is one of South Africa's best. He made it his mission to inform us as the family of what happened, what he is going to do and what we can expect after the operation. Phoned us at 23h30 to inform us that all went well with dad's operation and we can go to sleep with peace. Phoned back the next morning to inform us how dad slept and all is well. Never in my 50 years of life did I experience such a humble, friendly doctor that goes out of his way to put you at ease. Bedside manner is great.
