Joma Medical services is a subsidiary of JOMA group of companies specialising in provision of general medical services. It is led by Dr Thabo Elias Maleka who obtained his medical degree (MBCHB) at the university of Kwazulu Natal. He has worked at different government hospitals since his internship years in 2010. He has served in various leadership roles within the medical fraternity and these includes both provincial and national leadership of Junior Doctors Association of South Africa (JUDASA) and South African Medical Association - Trade Union (SAMA).
Dr Maleka is a regular health expert for the YO TV - Blue Couch on SABC 1. He also contributed to various local radio stations including Moletji FM, Mokopane FM and Pheli FM. He forms part of the academic staff for the department of Anatomical Pathology as a part time lecturer at the Sefako Makgatho University of Health Sciences.
He has been in private practice since 2014. Dr Maleka is passionate about opportunistic health promotion and education and as a result he is currently involved in various community upliftment programmes including school health talks.
