Doctor Pholile Mpofu is a dermatologist based in Morningside Sandton.
Doctor Pholile Mpofu is the first black woman to qualify as a dermatologist in South Africa
Dr. Mpofu noticed that the field of dermatology tended to be neglected by black doctors, and felt she could have an effect in this field. She was sure that black people would feel more comfortable sharing their problems with a black doctor. After completing her studies as a doctor at Medunsa in 1987 she began work in cardiology at Garankuwa Hospital. She became interested in dermatology while working at the Chris-Hani Baragwanath Hospital, and went on to become the first black woman to qualify as a dermatologist through the College of Medicine in South Africa.
She is a good doctor and takes time with her patients. However, she has too many patients and that makes the waiting period long. However, it's all worth it in the end.
Dr Mpofu the very best, she also relates very well with her patients. I recommend her 100% . see you soon doc
If you want beautiful & healthy skin be prepared to spend a day at her waiting room...it's more than worth it. I would like to express how grateful I am to have met Dr. Mpofu of whom I was referred to by my friend. I have previously consulted with a lot of Dermatologists, paid a lot of money & the results...ZERO!!! Some of them telling me that it will take about 5 years to treat the pigmentation on my face. Well...with my favourite Dermatologist (Mpofu) it only took me 2 months to have a beautiful glowing skin. I could actually see the difference in the first week & that made me gain my confidence back!!! I'm in love with my skin & I love Dr Mpofu, I wouldn't trade her for any Dermatologist in the whole world! Many thanks, Hazel Mapeta (Bryanston)
I was referred by a friend and I am so happy with the results in less than a month, thank you Dr Mpofu I am really happy with the results.
